Plastic surgery blog: Losing Belly Fat Is Good for Your Blood Vessels

fat belly1 Plastic surgery blog: Losing Belly Fat Is Good for Your Blood VesselsAccording to recent online industry article weight loss advantages are promising especially for belly fat. In a six-month weight-loss study, Hopkins researchers discovered that the more participants with abdominal fat lost, the more their arteries were able to expand when needed, which allowed for more blood to flow freely. The researchers also discovered that participants in the study who lost the weight on a low-carb diet lost approximately ten pounds more, on average, than study participants who were on a low-fat diet. Obesity increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, more so if the fat is accumulated in the abdomen above the waist. “After six months, those who were on the low-carb diet lost an average of 28.9 pounds versus 18.7 pounds among those on the low-fat diet,” says lead investigator Kerry J. Stewart, Ed.D., a professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and director of clinical and research exercise physiology at the Johns Hopkins Heart and Vascular Institute. Dr. StuartKincaid consults with patients who are concerned with abdominal fat, which in many cases include loose and lax skin on the abdomen. Dr. Stuart Kincaid explains that an abdominoplasty is not for patients who are considered morbidly obese. For the best results, patient should be at or near their ideal body weight. An abdominoplasty will remove loose and lax skin and when combined with liposuction it can shape the love handles as well as the lower back to enhance the appearance of the waist. It is important for patients to understand that maintaining a healthy diet as well as regular exercise is necessary for a  lifetime in order to maintain the results from their bodycontouringprocedures.   Become a Fan on Facebook  Follow us on Twitter  More on Dr.Kincaid
