heart diesease1 Plastic surgery blog: Matters of the heart for women

This is the month set aside to highlight the risks and concerns about heart disease. According to Channel 10 CNN news a recent study proved that women were more likely to die of a heart attack once they arrive at the hospital than men. According to the news article a study of heart attack patients finds that women are more likely than men to show up at the hospital without the classic chest pain symptoms of heart attack. The study also shows that women are more likely to die in the hospital following a heart attack. The study was published today in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Recognizing that a patient is having a heart attack and beginning treatment quickly is critical to preserving the heart. Without blood flow and oxygen, the heart muscle begins to die, forming scars that damage and impair heart function, and producing serious long term health problems. Dr. Stuart Kincaid informs all new patients that a complete health history is necessary to begin the process of determining if in fact the patient is a good candidate for cosmetic plastic surgery. Patients who are considering all surgical procedures including breast augmentationliposuction and even rhinoplasty should view each surgical procedure as serious and important. Patients who are older may be required to seek a full medical clearance from their primary care physician to ensure that they are healthy enough to proceed with surgery. Patient should maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly to ensure the best long-term results
